Each talented musician featured in Phoenix brings a varied musical background to the group, ranging from professional show work to classical training...intense jazz to soulful R&B...excitable sounds of big band to electrifying contemporary music. The unique combination has provided Phoenix with the reputation that has kept their clients coming back year after year.

- Cheryl Corley: Female Lead Vocals
Cheryl has performed in everything from church choirs to community theatre. Her vesatility has taken her from rock band to big band and, since 1997, to the variety of "Phoenix". Her management skills and attention to detail as the manager/band leader have enhanced the "Phoenix" band's reputation for quality and superior customer service.
With Cheryl's more than 20 years of experience attending weddings and events, you gain her watchful eye to help make sure that your event is everything you expected. For weddings, especially, Cheryl has been invaluable by helping couples avoid situations that may have caused dissappointment and by making suggestions that make the event more special. Her ability to coordinate with photographers, videographers and catering staffs have helped to make events run more smoothly. Her perspective on events is different than many of her male counterparts in other bands giving clients added securtiy in knowing that "Phoenix" will help make their event the very best.
- Larry Corley: Male Lead Vocal/Keyboard/Piano
Larry began his musical career on trumpet playing with the St. Louis University and Meremac Community College Jazz Bands, Webster University Student Jazz Combos, Stan Fornaszewski Big Band and the St. Louis Jazz Orchestra, performing behind such jazz greats Bobby Shew, Clark Terry, Louis Bellson, Rob McConnell, Kevin Gianino, Toshiko Akioshi and Lew Tabakin.
Selected in the summer of 1984 as a member of the prestigious "Jazz Abroad" Big Band, Larry toured throughout Europe including performances at the famed Montreux and North Sea Jazz Festivals. In 1989, he joined Phoenix as keyboardist, musical director and arranger. With Larry's talents, you can have the special song that will be the highlight of your event.
Larry also performs with the Brazilian group "Samba Bom" (http://www.sambabom.com) throughout the St. Louis area.

- Steve Exler: Electric Bass
Steve has been playing with Phoenix for over 10 years. Prior to Phoenix, he's worked with Terry Kratky and The Facts O'Life, Corky Blake and Blues Company, Phoenix, Jazz the Group featuring Star Search Winner Jake Simpson, Gordan Lawrence and Con Alma, City Saloon Band, Jazz - on the Landing, Jackie Station and the Baby Boomers. In addition, Steve has performed with several great jazz artists including James Gross, Gale Belle and Sheri Drake.
